Sinéad is an integrative counsellor, providing therapy for both individuals and couples. As a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) she works with a range of issues including; anxiety, depression, stress, emotional distress, work issues, confidence & self-esteem, relationship issues, friendship therapy, sexual issues. She has many years’ experience working with OCD (various subtypes), as well as specialising working with clients who experience relationship obsessive compulsive disorder/relationship anxiety (ROCD/RA).
SInéad lived many years with complex OCD, experiencing subtypes such as, Relationship OCD, Sensorimotor OCD, Harm OCD, Health OCD, Religious OCD, Real Event OCD, Depression, Body Dysmorphia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and complex Anxiety. She uses her personal experience and psychological training to help clients on their own therapeutic journey.
Using a person-centred approach at the core of her work, she encourages clients to be autonomous, relying on their authentic selves. She incorporates many therapeutic techniques and approaches, including exposure responsive therapy (ERP) cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. She believes each therapeutic relationship is unique and the therapeutic approach to the work should reflect that.
She enjoys helping clients to find their direction and answers to what can sometimes feel like a build-up of life’s questions. Living an authentic life is something she has spent a long time understanding and helping clients to strive for. Sinéad offers a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space for clients to explore and develop a greater understanding of their issues and self-awareness, helping them to make a change.
